Video General Policy
- By law, videocassettes may not be duplicated in part or completely.
- By law, videocassettes may not be used for commercial or theatrical instruction and cannot be broadcast or cablecast.
- By law, videocassettes may not be shown in a public place without public viewing rights. According to copyright law, a public performance is one that takes place outside the home or where a substantial number of persons outside the normal circle of family and its social acquaintances are gathered.
- The borrower is responsible whenever a producer or distributor brings about legal action for copyright infringement.
- The borrower takes responsibility for the care of any videocassette borrowed and for determining the appropriate audience for the content.
- Neither the Northeast Texas Library System nor the Ennis Public Library is responsible for damage caused to a borrower's equipment by playing the videocassettes.
- Neither the Northeast Texas Library System nor the Ennis Public Library is responsible for any changes made in the content of the videocassettes (such as inserted graffiti.)
