General Guidelines

At the time the application is made for a new borrower's card, the applicant may check out two items. The library card is available to be picked up the third day after an application is made.

Each library patron may check out a maximum of 14 items with loan periods varying on the resources checked out.

Books, books on tape and audiocassettes circulate for two (2) weeks. Magazines and videocassettes circulate for one (1) week.

Public, private, and home school teachers may borrow a class collection of books totaling up to 32 items on a teacher's card. These items are loaned for six (6) weeks.

There is a limit of three (3) books per subject of non-fiction, one (1) volume of encyclopedia, four (4) magazines or two (2) of the same title, four (4) titles of audio recordings, and three (3) titles of videos per household.

Videocassettes may be checked out to children in junior high school or older with parent approval.

Only the person to whom a library card is issued may use that library card. A person may check out materials without his/her card if he/she is on the library's computer and has a picture identification with him/her. Replacement of a lost card costs $1.00.
